The RARE center’s high pressure lab houses all equipment used to replicate the high pressure and temperature environments of the early earth.

Hell’s Bells

Hell’s Bells is a high temperature and high hydrostatic pressure  (HT-HHP) system with sample decompression and temperature controlled insulated vessels. This system also consists of a hydraulic hand pump, for bringing the vessels to pressure, and four stationary vessels that can contain samples.

PUSH rack

The PUSH rack: The PUSH rack is a HT-HHP installation frame that contains 8 vessel holders that house the portable PUSH vessels which can be wrapped in a heating jacket and insulation.
