Undergraduate Research Associate, Department of Biology
Laurel Snow is an undergraduate researcher in the RARE Center whose work focuses on extremophile microbiology and prebiotic chemistry. She joined RARE in 2023 while pursuing a minor in astrobiology, and in 2024 began conducting research on microbial systems relevant to early Earth. Her work centers on extremophiles as model organisms for understanding life under extreme conditions and the chemical processes that may have supported the origins of life. Through her research, Laurel contributes to RARE’s mission of advancing knowledge at the intersection of microbiology, chemistry, and astrobiology.
